This was delivered as a speech, and is a memory and biography of the life of Samuel Chase, delivered by his long time law partner who was just recently the governor of Ohio. It is largely a recollection of political events in Chase’s life, and is fondly sympathetic to him as a Whig, Republican, and an Abolitionist. The result is an interesting period piece, but not very important.
