Gavin and Dani.
This is the first book I have read in the series.
It is a second chance romance.
It was okay.
Dani and Gavin were involved then Dani disappears, no explanation.
They meet again, Gavin is hurt but despite that they get involved again.
She can't explain why she left and obviously he wants answers.
They start seeing each other he makes it obvious he had one night stands which was understandable,he is lashing out as he's hurt and trying to hide how he feels but still.
She is a bit harder to get a read on, as a reader you are asking the same questions as Gavin even though we see extra things and know things he doesn't.
The secret was a good one, a bit unique, it's well written.
There is some good banter between couples from previous stories and a build up for Rachel and Ben who obviously have a future story coming.… (mehr)

Except when she finally meets a guy she connects with she puts his number in her phone wrong. What ensues is a text friendship between Clark and Haley, known as Lois by Clark. They share their fears, their secrets, and all their wants. Haley finds herself developing feelings for Kyle, the cute IT guy in her new job, and he feels them too, but he doesn't know how to tell her that he is Clark. As friendship and relationship blossoms the secret of who is on the other end of the phone may just tear them apart.

Predictable? Yes. Enjoyable? Definitely. Jamie Howard weaves a cute tale of unconventional romance with characters Haley and Kyle, also known as Lois and Clark. If ever that was a book boyfriend to add to your collection, Kyle is it. He's nerdy, shy, and offers Haley friendship with food and witty banter. The twist, that readers are in on, makes things even more interesting when we see this other side of Kyle, also known as Clark, who offers advice on anything from relationship and dates to clothing. Haley is a jaded character, determined to get over her ex, but holding onto all her past feelings. She doesn't know how to handle feelings for men, she's got piles of guilt on her shoulders, and she certainly doesn't know how to entertain two men. If I was in the book, I would have definitely been among the friends telling Haley she needed to open her eyes.

I really enjoyed the growth in Haley as the book progressed, both in her life with friends and family and with Kyle, and especially enjoyed the text relationship she carried on with Clark. As Lois and Clark, they both shed their fears and opened up, revealing to the reader their secrets, but not to one another in real life. As the story unfolds, and Kyle discovers Lois is really Haley, the relationship between Kyle and Haley develops and it is beyond cute to read. Their encounters are funny and lust filled, and their friendship makes an excellent base for their blossoming feelings. It was so easy to connect with both characters and hope for a happy ending for them in this emotional and cute read.… (mehr)

Jamie Howard has a way of creating deep, dynamic characters that reach from the pages. Juliet is a sought after actress and Felix is a rocker who is wheelchair bound. They meet by chance on a photoshoot. Its insta-love.

Juliet's stalker adds some suspense and danger to the building relationship. As if a relationship between an actress and a rock star isn't already difficult enough, once you add the stalker, it becomes nearly impossible. But, Felix isn't giving up and I loved that about him! Juliet tried to push him away to keep him safe (Not my favorite plot device) and I was thrilled that Felix saw through that.

In the end, I think the ID of the stalker and how it would all play out was predictable, but it didn't really dampen the story for me since the stalker was more of a sub-plot. For me, the real meat of the story was Juliet and Felix. What Howard has written is a very character driven story about 2 people in difficult professions with difficult histories making love a priority!… (mehr)
