Adorable! This was book one in a series that I will definitely continue reading.

Jackie is a brilliant NASA engineer but is clueless about men and is sometimes awkward in social settings. Hence her co-worker blackmailing her into "Operation Social Life". Flynn specializes in restoring vintage muscle cars in his own shop but comes from a very rich ranching family.

Things start off rocky with Flynn basically yelling at Jackie and throwing her out of his home, but soon engines are firing on all four cylinders. Not everything cruises along smoothly, there are twists and turns in their relationship along the way. The characters were well written and had good growth/development.

I listened to the audiobook and there were a few times when Flynn called Jackie "Darlin'" that I thought a bit cheesy (I don't mind some cheese every now and then though). And, the thing with Flynn's brother made me do a double take.

There was spice, as to be expected from a book cover like that! It was well written and didn't detract from the plot or growth of the characters. On my pepper scale I would give it a 5 pepper:

A saucy read with fun and relatable characters!

Sassy astronaut Julie Starr is not afraid to speak her mind isn't about to let anything/anyone deter her from her goal of becoming the youngest Flight Commander ever.

Holt West is a straight laced cowboy who doesn't like foul language and anything that will distract him from his responsibilities.

My sincere thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read Anyone But the Boss and give my unbiased opinion of it in the following review.

Thomas has had a rough year, his father has gone to prison, his younger brother is his polar opposite and loves to torment him with his hairless cat, his mother is embracing her inner cougar and he has been admiring a woman named Alice, but his rules won't let him pursue her because she is an employee. When he goes to Las Vegas for his brother's wedding, imagine his surprise when he wakes up in the same bed with Alice and they are both wearing wedding rings. On top of that, Alice is surprised by having her young niece abandoned into her care and the only way to keep her is to go along with the marriage so she can provide a suitable home for Mary. Yep, it's a mess!

The first part of the book is a little too chaotic and maybe even a little slap stick. Too much "com" to the "rom". The second half of the book was a nice back and forth between Thomas and Alice working through their growing feelings. I liked Thomas interaction with little Mary and there was definitely more growth shown with his character. I didn't feel a lot of depth to the story even though I thought I should be. I am wondering if I missed out by reading this book before the first in the series. Had I read the first book, maybe I would have understood Thomas a little better. There is a grand gesture at the end that is kind of cute.
I may check out the first book out of curiosity.

Chase Moore is dealing with a lot - recovering from a breakup, dealing with his always dysfunctional family, selling the company he founded, and his new found pet - the cat he bought for the ex girlfriend. When his older brother calls a meeting to sell the family business, Chase steps in to try and save the company to prove his father wrong. Enter Campbell King, the marketing guru. Campbell is at the top of their game, but doesn't allow anyone to get close and enforces a strictly professional relationship. After an awkward first run in, there is an instant attraction between Chase and Campbell.

As the plot unfold, can Chase and Campbell remain only professional and resist their attraction? Can Chase save the family to spite his father, but if so at what cost? What is the real reason that Campbell never lets anyone close to her?

I loved this book and would highly recommend it.
