Having thoroughly enjoyed her previous hedgehog books, I was pleased to find this new addition was just as remarkable. Consequently, I have included all her books in my classroom library and eagerly anticipate her future releases. My third graders' enthusiasm for embracing these books is heartwarming.

The Tale of the Little Lonely Hedgehog is destined to be a favorite, not only of the child who reads it, but the adult who is charmed by the lush and exquisitely detailed illustrations and is eager to find a child with which to share it!
The anthropomorphic forest animals who Hedgehog meets on his walk all have little ones that they are caring for. Hedgehog is happy to show kindness to each family group but feels increasingly lonely as his walk continues. He is also puzzled by comments from several friends who recall seeing him on an earlier walk...which he never made! He also sees footprints which look like his, but they are ahead of him on the path! Hmmm...

The message of the book is sweet and the illustrations are incredible, and I assume, the artist is Mr. Humpheryes himself, as no other illustrator is credited.

The storyline is so simple yet elegant and heartwarming. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to many others. This was the ending to this series??? I sure hope not! Thanks for the amazing book!

He arrives home to his surprise since he had no experience of Christmas and is grateful for the friends who helped him learn about it. As an aunt to a 4 and 7 year olds who love hedgehogs I expect this will appeal to many.
