This is one of the angsty-est, most emotional short stories I have read in quite a while. Adam and Peter are so in love with each other it almost hurts, and yet, they were about to break up when disaster, in the form of Adam having a serious accident, struck. Just like in real life, these men lost focus on what was really important (each other and their love), and this is the story of them learning from their mistakes, understanding that love can be fragile and needs to be nurtured, and finding their way back to each other.

The cause of their issue is simple, yet devastating, and one that many same-sex couples face. Adam is out, Peter is a relatively well-known sports reporter who is out to his family, but not "the rest of the world". He therefore has to keep the relationship a secret and that is slowly creating a rift between them. Adam feels like a dirty secret, but doesn’t talk about it, and Peter has no clue what is going on. It's almost too late when they finally "get it".

If you like angst and guys opening up to each other after many years, if you enjoy reading stories about men baring their emotions so they can deepen the connection that is so clearly between them, and if you're looking for a story with lots of drama and even more love, then you will probably enjoy this free short story.
