I selected this book as resource material for an upcoming Advent sermon. I found this book a now well-tabbed commentary on the ministry of John the Baptist and his role as the precursor of Jesus Christ. Although a must for the library of any clergy, the book can also be used for adult formation since it includes reflection questions at the end of each chapter. John the Baptist is explored from the perspective each of the Gospels, Western and Eastern Christianity, and Christ himself.
