Beth Kander

Uniquely organized, the first half of this book is rhyming text; an author's note and glossary are in the middle; and the second half highlights different holidays and food ideas/recipes (e.g. a "charcuter-tree" for tu b'shevat, hamentashen for Purim, shakshuka for Shabbat, matzah mac and cheese for Passover, ice cream in a bag for Shavuot, and rainbow latkes for Hanukkah.

With a little Yiddish and a lot of humor mixed in, this bubbly read-aloud picture book about holiday foods and traditions emphasizes the joy of the Jewish experience.
