Nice format, lots of pix, handy size, helpful as we decide how many days to spend on drive up to Acadia (need to nail down lodging reservations soon). Reserve the right to alter the 5star rating until after vacation's over!
Oriented toward young people (includes a "party index" rating), but generally has good information. During a cross-country road trip in 2002 I discovered that its listing of a hostel was a few years out of date---the hostel had been closed for some time.
undispensible guidebook when on road trips or just plain vagabonding. I've stayed at hostels in about 30 states, and the author's reviews generally match up with my own.
