Deidre Davenport is fresh from Vermont and looking to become a star on Broadway. She meets Glenna, a barmaid, and quickly moves in with her. Deidre never becomes a star, or even lands a part, but she doesn't really care because she and Glenna have chemistry together. She doesn't realize, however, that Glenna is using her, setting her to become a prostitute. Yeah, seriously. Then a lot of weird stuff happens, including a hasty marriage, threesomes (f/f/f and m/f/f), and the obligatory rape.

This is one of those lesbian pulps that really IS trash. There's barely any plot; Deidre's Broadway dreams aren't even mentioned for several chapters, and then she gives up her "dream" after only a few disastrous auditions. Deidre also has no personality, and Glenna is just a two-dimensional predatory lesbian. Deidre ventures into prostitution easily, in spite of a few half-hearted protestations. The blurb on the front of book, which hints at a more tender relationship, is completely out of place. Glenna and Deidre never share intimacy; oh, sure, they have sex a lot, with one another and other people, but they don't have anything between them except sex.

I'd recommend skipping this one.
