This is a story of an Iraqi vet soldier who returns to his wife having survived a bomb blast. He returns handicapped with limited mobility, a fierce case of PTSD and a load of guilt. I had trouble with the both husband and wife. I found their responses to each other to be immature and fake. Some of the sentiments expressed in the dialogue did not ring true to life for me. It is, however, a tale that need to be told. My thanks to the author and LibraryThing for a complimentary copy.

Received this book in exchange for a review but when I went to smashwords it was in the adult section. My browser wouldn't let me download it so I haven't read it. It would be useful if more classification were given in the review list to help when selecting books to review.
Since writing that I managed to download it and found out that the smash words adult filter is set really low. This is a book for adults rather than children.
I quite liked the story but at first didn't like Ty at all and then swapped to preferring him to Lulu. I kept going until the end to see whether they got back together but not sure I would have bothered if I wasn't reviewing the book. It got a bit to tedious in the middle when Ty was trying to put his life back together.
The book is well written and with the exception of a long sex scene (which I found totally boring and skipped) a standard women's chic lit book.… (mehr)

A beautiful and moving story about what happens after a soldier comes home. The characters and the gorgeous setting illustrate a realistic and lovely world. Hawaii is a character by itself. Not only does the author portray the returning soldier well, but she does an excellent job describing the feelings and thoughts of his family. The story revolves around the veteran's trauma, but also everyone who cares about him. I love it.
