This book is all about leaves. It has pictures of many different leaves and explains what they look like and how they feel. It shows how leafy plants are grown from seeds. It explains how leaves can have different smells and patterns. It talks about what leaves different type of bugs and animals will eat and how they eat the leaves.

I think this is a great picture book to use in class. It showed many different types of leaves and it gave great information about leaves that most teachers wouldn’t think about telling their students. It’s a great book for students to read on their own because of all the helpful pictures.

For younger grades, I would have the children go a nature walk and put different leaves in a brown bag. Then they could show each other their leaves they found. For the older grades, you could go on a nature walk and have them keep notebooks to draw and color the different leaves they see.… (mehr)
