I had this book on my kindle for around 6 months and felt in the mood for something lighthearted that was also a short read. This series delivers my goals (including a spiffy black cat with telepathy named Arnold).

Mira is a likable woman off to a fresh new start after a disastrous breakup. While her psychic sister Darla's intentions are good, Mira is fed up with having her sister dictate her life. Low on money and with no job prospects, that doesn't deter Mira from rev her ancient Buick named Babs, stuffing her cat Arnold into his carrier against his will, and going to a new city.

Their trip suffers from a surprise detour when a crook steals a cat named Oksana, but Mira's fondness for cats decides to risk it all and bring the cat back to her rightful owner. This book offered a lot of enjoyment, and I would like to continue reading the next book in the series.

I do love books with animals and murder. This is my first time reading about Mira, her cat, and her tiny dog. I had already found the killer, and hoped that the two sister put aside their differences and find the killer and I laughed at her cat!!

Mira Michaels became the chef at the Scoop and Soup diner soon after she relocated to Pleasant Pond, Pennsylvania. Mira and Aerie are preparing for the festive Christmas Eve brunch. But Santa is a "no show." Will Santa come to the afternoon storytime at the library? In the evening, everyone wants to see Santa turn on the Christmas tree lights in town. It's Christmas Eve. Why hasn't anyone seen Santa?

I love this series, but other than my continued delight with the antics of Mira’s cat Arnold and his devotion to teaching his kittens, I could have skipped this story. In the series, Mira’s character has matured since her relocation. Mira’s sleuthing behavior in this story didn’t ring true for me, and her whining became annoying. With copy edit errors, I would have rung the bell for "time out" if the story had been longer.… (mehr)

The turkey is in the oven, and Mira Michaels is busy with the last preparations before her sister Darla and her cats arrive for Christmas. What a busy time for Mira’s cat, Arnold. As if he doesn’t have enough to do instructing his son Charlie and daughters Sylvie and Lucy in preparation for their 1st Christmas with a tree and decorations. But Arnold also needs the kittens’ help safeguarding his favorite toy and the menace of the cat twins, X and O.

Cozy mystery fun for the holiday season! Arnold’s description of the vacuum cleaner is priceless, and the questions the kittens ask their Dad never fail to bring a smile.

The sweet and whimsical short story can be read as a stand-alone, but if you haven’t already started the series, I suggest adding it to your tbr list so you can enjoy every book. They’re all purring with charm!
