- Prof. Maurice Kriegel is a specialist in medieval Jewish history. He headed the Centre d'études juives (Center for Jewish Studies) at the EHESS in Paris and edited a series on Judaism. He became Amado Professor of Sephardic History at UCLA. His books include Les Juifs à la fin du Moyen âge, dans l'Europe méditerranéenne (1979). He is the editor of a book on Gershom Scholem (2009).
