I have had this book since it came out decades ago. From time to time I revisit it and it still fascinates me. it focuses on long forgotten cultures and the importance they put on the heavens and how the night sky affected their lives and feelings.

Humorous and informative introduction to Big Dipper, North Star, and more in The Night Sky.
Beautiful and evocative illustrations abound!

Diversity in kids, Neanderthal to future, would be welcome.

Both students and adults may find some parts of presentation still confusing,
as with locating other constellations and with POLARIS and THUBAN.
