I was surprised at how fast I read this! It's not a very in-depth look at European history, but its very readable, and even funny. It really pertains largely to the European continent, since you can read the author's "British History for Dummies" for the British info.

Aimed at someone with some understanding already, actually. The author admits so in his intro. I have none. I need to get the junior version of this!

However, so long as I had it checked out from the library, I took a look. I'm not sure I'd appreciate this if I were ready for it, as it seemed to focus more on being witty and palatable than on actually being informative.

Enjoyable romp through the history of Britain with good basic information leavened with good enough jokes. Spotted a few errors when it got to the twentieth century.
