Loki appears again with his own brand of mischievous assistance, this time for a dwarf in search of his wayward brothers. I love this depiction of Loki as humane and compassionate. It adds a layer to the traditional trickster god, of which you see little in this story. Anyone in the mood for a quick read would like ML Larson's Norse short stories.

"Sky Treader" is a short story about an adventure taken by Thor and Loki. I have not read much on Norse mythology and do not know the accuracy with which these characters were portrayed, but it was a quick read and decent entertainment for an afternoon. I can't see this kind of thing working for anything longer than a short story though.

*I received the ebook version of this from a giveaway on LibraryThing.

There's not much to say about this one either. In this short story, we follow Jari, a dwarf, on his quest to search for his brothers and on the way he gains the help of Loki and Odin (although he really doesn't like Odin).
I actually like this one more than the first, and found it intriguing to read from Jari's view, of how he met Loki and how he deals with their on-horse adventure to different places.
I still didn't love it though.
I'm sure others might like it more, and so I would still recommend it to anyone looking for a nice, short read.

There's not much to say, really. This is just a short story about Loki and Thor and how it began with Thor dragging Loki out of bed and then turned out to be Thor following Loki like a puppy through this adventure with a band of Dwarves also known as a few of Loki's friends.

Basically, Thor wanted Loki to get out of bed and go outside and have fun, so he takes him someplace else to drink but instead Loki takes them somewhere else where they meet up with a group of Dwarves and go on a hunt. They end up killing two Gryphons, keeping a baby one, getting attacked and escaping and stealing horses and throughout there's a whole lot of action and it's great.

I liked it, yeah, but at the same time I just didn't love it. I feel like I couldn't connect and maybe also the fact that Loki didn't seem like Loki to me just made me not love it like I could have. I kind of have a problem. If I don't like the characters or I can't connect with them, then I tend to not enjoy the story as much as I otherwise would have.

Overall though, I enjoyed this short read and I would recommend it to anyone, really.
