- J.J. Lee is an Irish Professor of History and Glucksman Professor for Irish Studies and Director of Glucksman Irish House at New York University. From 1974-2002 he was Professor of Modern History at University College, Cork. Since 1985 he has been a member of the Royal Irish Academy. From 1993-97 he was a member of Seanad Eireann serving as an Independent Senator on the NUI Panel.
