Rezensionen

This tale is a delicious concoction, liberally salted with spicy horror and a dash of humor. It is to be consumed with a a generous compassion for the endearingly villainous vampires, who makes me suspect one of two things: either they are human, like me, or I am one of them. Either way, I loved that the characters, both the mortal and the immortal ones, have faults, which makes them so close that the smell of blood is palpable. Jackson and Eva love to hate each other, and the two vampires, Mr. A. and his wife Elizabetta are non more loving. The pain of divorce can be felt on both sides of the divide.

The author continues to explore the universe she has created in earlier works, but this time it has blossomed into a full length novel, written with quirky wit and originality.

Five stars.

What shall the vampires do, dying of hunger for fresh meat, and yet faced with a moral dilemma looking at their victims, who are hissing and hooting in their cages? In less than a dozen pages, 'Vampire Therapy: Cat's Ass Valentine" blew my mind with its uniquely odd mixture of genres. I could not quite make up my mind if this is a children's book, a horror story, or some other thing bubbling with the wackiest, off the wall humor I have read i a long while. It is written with a kitten's paw, in a soft manner until the nails come flashing out: "Eternity seemed to be stretching out like taffy and speaking of taffy, she was very, very hungry."

I have already met the cast Petra, brother Duke, Lilly, and the evil Mr. Abraham, in other installments of this series, which builds familiarity until you learn, the hard way, that even in a familiar place you should expect the unexpected, even from Mr. Abraham: "Mr. Abraham bit his finger and the blood sparkled as held it so that it dripped across the little gir's lips."

Which brings me to the cover, featuring a hot red ripple spreading out, over which suspicious shadows tail away.
