Located in the Mader Center, this book has many tips on studying and writing in English for international students. The advice comes from first-hand experiences of other students, so in that respect, it has a lot of little tips for studying, reading reports, conversations, writing theses, taking notes, and some grammar notes as well.

I wouldn't suggest reading the whole thing, but thumbing through a few of the chapters could be useful, especially the chapters 7 and 8 that go over the basics of thesis statements, and the basics of the different writing assignments that one will encounter in college.… (mehr)

Every now and again, a book comes along that should be compulsory reading. Study skills for speakers of esl by Marilyn Lewis and Published by Palgrave Macmillan, 2003 is one of those books. It is designed for students for whom English is a second language and plan to study in an English speaking country, however all students can benefit from reading relevant sections of this book.
