I've never seen or read a book like this one. If you are tired of reading ABOUT quantum mechanics and are ready to learn the actual mathematical formalism (and its history), then this is the book for you. If "beginner" and "self-study" describes your efforts, then don't even dream about using a text book. The format of this book is about how to teach quantum mechanics to anyone...grade school through adult. That doesn't mean it's easy, it just means that it is taught in a far more engaging manner with little if any need for prerequisite knowledge beyond elementary math. If you've had basic calculus in college, then you're way ahead when you start this book. I've read this book so many times already and will continue to do so for years to come.… (mehr)
