This book wraps up Stella and Seb’s story but also leaves it open for more to come with other characters in this series. After that ending in book two my heart was shattering along with Stella’s wondering what happened and to who. When this one starts it picks right up where the last left us and the pain that Stella is going through as she sees what is in front of her. i don’t want to give too much away because there are secrets, twists, and devious plans throughout that you want to enjoy. I will say this one shows a much softer side of Seb yet still deep down he loves his twists and still shows Stella how much of his she truly is. Stella gets to have her say in a lot of ways and solidifies herself in the family as a soldier capable of handling things that need to be done. Their love is crazy but epic and their friendships bond them in ways they make their own family. This journey has been fun, dark, and suspenseful but it is far from over. I truly hope that Theo’s theory is incorrect and after reading that snippet at the end I can’t wait to see what the author has in store with him. Get ready to dive head first in a twisted mafia tale full of angst, hate, steam, and love.… (mehr)

Theo and Emmie have this intense hate attraction chemistry one second they look like they could hurt each other then the next they look like they may tear each other’s clothes off. Their hatred has always been extreme so even in earlier books I knew that there was something behind it that was more like passion. Theo and Emmie go back and forth slinging hateful words, trying to make the other jealous, you could feel the attraction bleed off the pages. I wanted to shake them because they both were attracted to each other and wanted to be with the other but too many secrets are lurking waiting to tear their lives to shred. Theo knows he has a job to do but his obsession with Emmie continues to grow and he doesn’t know what to do. Emmie is independent,wants to know her family, is in way over her head with the decisions she is making, she wants Theo but ultimately knows it could never work. When secrets come to light what will happen to their lives? Will Emmie ever be able to trust anyone again? Will Theo be able to decide what is important to him and how to balance all aspects of his life? This kept me on the edge wanting them to finally realize their feelings, wanting to know the secrets, and craving form more. It ends on a cliffhanger and I will be patiently, ok maybe a tad not so patiently, for the next one.… (mehr)

We are back where Theo and Emmie’s first book left us with her being trapped because Theo wants a chance to prove and protect her. Is he going about this situation in the wrong way? Yes he definitely is but in this world where things are seriously life or death he has to make decisions that may not be ideal but are the best for each situation. Theo is the heir to the mafia so he has to be the guy to follow orders just like the rest of them yet he is held at an impossible standard because he also has to call the shots to certain things so when Emmie continuously berates and kicks him while he’s down made me mad. She seems to forget that this life is serious and she is surrounded by powerful people who could easily end her, yet she still acts childish and throws tantrums. Emmie is at that point where I only see her as being completely selfish and yes she does deserve some of her anger but it is constantly pointed at the wrong person, Theo. Theo repeatedly tries to show her his feelings the only way he knows how but it is never enough for her and she throws it in his face. She can forgive her mother, grandfather for their horrible acts almost instantly but she has this need to fight against everything that is Theo. I was glad that she got a break away from everything and was hoping with this time she could search herself try to find reason because if she is in danger Theo only wants her safe and she shouldn’t be fighting against that, yet instead she spends the time apart trying to find ways to drown her sorrows or make Theo angry. She is spiraling down a path that looks like her mother and that’s the one person she never wanted to be. I don’t know I feel as if Theo deserves better someone who can stand beside him when things get tough or questionable because Emmie is very immature with how she handles things. I really hope the next book that Emmie matures and they can work together to figure things out. Theo is not completely innocent but he also is not the one that deserves all of her ire.… (mehr)
