In The New Climate War, scientist Michael E. Mann dispels common myths about our current climate crisis and exposes the playbook of "climate change inactivists" for what it is: an amalgamation of lies, half-truths, distortions, misassigned blame, and deflections. He is particularly insightful in his emphasis on the evil power of "doomism" or the idea that it is too late to do anything about our changing climate, so why try to do anything? It's not too late to save the world, he writes, but far-reaching and perhaps painful systemic changes are necessary.

This book is not a pleasant read, but it is an important, and even hopeful, one.

An easy read if somewhat dated. And (in my opinion) overly optimistic for the same reason. The cartoons are delightful, and the book remains an accurate and insightful introduction to the politics and science of climate change and it's deniers.

What I read of this book was very good, though a bit heavy going. It just got so depressing learning about all the fossil fuel industry funded scientists, media people & general nay-sayers that I had to give it up. I fear for the future of real science, to say nothing of the future livability of our planet.

This is a book that matters. Written by a geophysicist, I learned not only about facts that relate to global warming but also the political machinations that are stymying the efforts to decarbonize industry and transportation.
