I browsed into this at my local, virtually unbrowsable Barnes & Noble (unless you enjoy browsing into piles of already established author's works), with an eye towards a potential recommendation to my monthly Bookgroup.

I enjoyed it well-enough, but by the end I easily had grown weary of the characters, not particularly caring about their fates or the story's resolution. I didn't hate it --- just didn't like it much. Oddly, I found Chance a bit too foul-mouthed and with enough foibles to wish he'd just fall into a well.

Oh well. At least I supported a new author with a purchase! :-)… (mehr)
