Mic (Michael) has difficulty with maths at school, and befriends a new kid, Vernon Chortle, "Nerd Boy." Mic's deafblind sister Stephanie isn't introduced until the middle of chapter 4. Chapters read quickly but his sister could have appeared sooner, though her scenes make me cringe at how she's depicted and treated by others.

Mic needs help with fractions and asks help from "Nerd Boy" he also feels like his life can't be normal.
