Well, not as bad as I was thinking after I'd read the first story in it - I was _determined_ to slog through, but there were actually several not-bad stories in there. Mildly interesting gimmick - all the stories were written in some form (letter, diary, essay, etc.). The first story I hated the main character so bad that even when he turns at the end it didn't help, I still disliked him. The second one was worse, she didn't even improve at the end. She also showed up (not personally, just mentioned) in almost all the other stories. The third was the good one - there was a sympathetic character, and she actually won (for some definition of 'won') in the end. The fourth wasn't as bad as the first two - she was only an idiot - but it ended poorly, giving her no chance to improve. The last one was even more of an idiot (though it wasn't necessarily his fault), and that one didn't really end at all - just sort of dribbled off into nothing. I guess I'm glad I read it - it was interesting. I'm VERY glad I'm done, and I have no intention of ever rereading that. Ghahhh.… (mehr)
