I read this book years ago as a teenager. It is a collection of stories about a few girls in a boarding school for girls and their experiences. The first story continues to be my favorite - The Stuck Pot. Alice Ann is more interested in science than boys and is being required to attend a dance instead of being able to supervise her experiment. She happens to overhear that the boys that will be attending the dance have set up a 'stuck pot' to award to the boy who gets stuck with the worst girl. The girls retaliate by setting up their own stuck pot to award to the girl who was stuck with.

My second favorite story is The Worthywun. A girl creates a little angel from a couple of clay pots and more clay and begins to have wonderful luck. Soon everyone wants one of the little 'Worthywuns' to have her own luck. Things get out of hand quickly, but work out for the best in the end.

All the stories are good, but these two are my favorites.… (mehr)
