Patricia Miles Martin (November 14, 1899 – January 2, 1986) was an American children's author who wrote American historical fiction, non-fiction, and biographies. She published under her own name as well as the names Miska Miles, Patricia A. Miles, and Jerry Lane. As Miska Miles, she received a Newbery Honor for her book Annie and the Old One in 1972.

A gorgeous and beautifully worded alphabet book to be read again and again.

Sing Sailor Sing von Patricia Miles Martin
This book has lovely sketch like illustrations in a restricted color palette of purple, teal and black. The story, however, skiims over the idea of Colonialism and is written only within the narrow scope of a young boy allowed to travel by ship under the Portuguese flag to colonize an island, then return home with news for the Prince who sponsored the expedition. Pretty boring.
