Dare U 2 Open This Book: Draw It, Write It, Dare to Live It is a devotional book by Carol McAdams Moore for boys. I also reviewed her one for girls titled Just Sayin’: Write ‘em, Draw ‘em, Hide ‘em in Your Heart. Since my girls and I were so excited about her devo geared for girls, I thought I should check out this one too. My son isn’t old enough yet, but I’m planning ahead. :)

Again, Carol McAdams Moore has created 90 engaging devotions that will appeal to a range of ages and personalities as they explore God’s truth and different ways to put them into action. Along with a topic, quote, and Scripture summary, other fun and creative activities are include, such as puzzles, doodles, quizzes, and other unique activities. The author prays that through Dare U 2 Open This Book and her other devos the kids will “discover Jesus and find Him more amazing than ever imagined!” I LOVE her heart for kids and her willingness to think out of the box in these devotions.

I pray that these will help kids grow in their faith as they express their thoughts and feelings in creative ways.

UPS: This is a great devo for young boys who want to get closer to God but have short attention spans. The reading is short and the activities are very fun but has the reader think and find their own identity in Christ. It really is a fantastic book and I love the way Carol writes. It's so fun and bubbly that I doubt any boy could get board with it!

DOWNS: The only down that I can think of is that this book is definitely not one of those books that is easily shared. With me living in a big family, we always pass around favorite devos with each other and enjoy sharing notes. But Dare U 2 Open This Book is an activity book, of which you write in, draw in, there are also some gluing activities, so in order to enjoy the fullness of this book, the book needs to belong to one, and only one, boy. So, if you have multiple boys who you would like to read this, then you will want to buy one for each ;-)

OVERALL: I recommend this book to boys whose ages are 6 to 10 or 11ish and rate it 5 out of 5 stars! Carol also wrote a book like this for girls called Just Sayin' that I am sure is just as fabulous as this one!

A refreshing new approach in studying scripture for young girls by writing and drawing your thoughts down in a fun devotional journal! I love the book with its unique illustrations and creative fonts. If you're a visual learner, you'll be captivated and drawn in to learn more of God's word. The author thinks outside the box and connects with tweens in such a clever manner by inviting young people to be creative on each page in dissecting God's word. Personal application stimulates girls to follow Jesus and experience His love for them through this very cool devotional. Great for home and church library, too.… (mehr)

Cave Dave is a Phonics Comics book, and students can read about Cave Dave and his prehistoric adventures in this comic fiction. The literary work can improve students' use of grammar, spelling skills, and knowledge of vocabulary. I would recommend this book for kindergarten and first grade students.… (mehr)
