The title of this book fooled me a little--I expected one of the main characters to be in a wheelchair or for one of the main characters to end up needing a wheelchair during the story. Instead, wheels refers to a shared love of cars that brings the two main characters together. Both have an interest in improving automotive efficiency--one is a racecar driver and the other an engineer.

I enjoyed the overall story but I did wonder about Luke's cluelessness when it came to relationships with women. Can one man really make that many missteps while pursuing a single woman? And would the woman forgive him as many times as Rachel does and take him back as her boyfriend? I just don't know. After a while, their pattern of dating, having something stupid happen that convinces one or the other to break it off, apologizing and getting back together grew old.

I also didn't like that the author had Rachel ready to break her purity vow just to be with Luke. I think, though this situation often comes up in real life, that the author missed a chance to show readers a way or ways to keep your vow even though passion and emotions want to push you to break it.… (mehr)
