Mirka Mora (1928–2018)

Mirka Mora was born in Paris, France on March 18, 1928. After surviving the Holocaust, she and her husband Georges arrived in Melbourne, Australia in 1951. They opened a number of cafes and Mora became an artist. Her works included painting, ceramics, and mosaic murals that are located at Flinders mehr anzeigen Street Station and the St. Kilda Pier. Her autobiography, Wicked but Virtuous, was published in 2000 and an art book, Love and Clutter, was published in 2003. She also illustrated From Angels with Love by Christine Zavod and My Italian Heart: Recipes from an Italian Kitchen by Guy Grossi. She died on August 27, 2018 at the age of 90.
