Description taken from Amazon: "When Laura Lander’s family invites her to return to her hometown to join them for the Thanksgiving holiday, she’s uncertain. She and her sister haven’t gotten along since they were children, and Laura’s heart still aches from the old hurts.

To complicate matters, she’d left her heart behind years before, and she’s not sure her feelings for family friend, Dalton Jance, are dormant.

Laura accepts the holiday invitation, and finds that her family is falling apart. Her sister’s marriage is seemingly over, her nephew and niece are suffering for it, and her brother is exhausted from trying to run interference.

With God’s help—and a little help from Dalton—can Laura bring her family together again? And will she find her own ‘happily ever after’ with the man who has occupied her dreams for years?"

Really enjoyed this story.

Christmas time can be the happiest season of all, but for Maggie it is hard since her husband was killed during the holidays two years ago. Now she is trying to raise her little five year old boy, Rickey on her own. Rickey hasn't lost his ability though to trust in God and
to pray He would send him a Daddy for Christmas.

But this small family begins receiving unexpected visitors around Christmas time that will cause all sorts of complications. This is where Police Officer John comes to the rescue. The handsome officer will truly make a big difference in both Maggie and Rickey's lonely life.

God is seeming to answer Rickey’s prayers? But can he convince his mother of that? I must say I smiled a lot when these unexpected animal visitors showed up in their back yard. It was an endearing story and Officer John was such a great guy. Enjoyed myself, even though I didn't read it around the Christmas, "the Happiest Season". Looking forward to reading more by this author.

The Happiest Season by Rosemarie Naramore
Story of a woman, Maggie with a young sonk Rickey who's left the town where she and her husband had lived in Eugene, OR to get away from bad memories of his death.
She gets surprised by her son declaring there is a camel in the backyard and she calls the local police, who do show up to find just that! Local live nativity animal had gotten lose and loves her cookies that her son fed him.
Policeman, John comes by often, after having lost his wife years prior to help her out, repairing the siding, going to the store with them to get the supplies and spending time with the young child-showing him things that a dad would be doing...
Despite the animals that keep wandering away from the nativity set and causing damage at Maggie's, Rickey is having God bring him a present for this Christmas. He knows it's a job too big for just Santa.
Lots of typos in this book, not sure why. Like the story as it's about God and it is the reason for the season.

This was a delightful story. A story of two people being neglected by their grandchildren as they live in a retirement home. What happens when they decide to "escape" and leave without warning? Well the two grandchildren (Amanda and Brady) leave their hectic jobs behind and set out to search for Amanda's grandma and Brady's grandpa.

I loved the whole premise of this story. How these two older people realize they still have the opportunity to enjoy life in their old age. They take off for Florida, then a cruise and many other adventures. Meanwhile Amanda and Brady stay one step behind them, and realize how caught up in their jobs they really were, without taking the time for the people they loved. When Amanda got on the plane with Brady, I laughed so hard, because like Amanda I don't like to fly. What a hoot. Amanda and Brady will spend enough time together that you know what is going to happen, but liked how the author tied the title of this book to the story in the last page of the book. Good job! I look forward to reading more stories by this author.… (mehr)
