2023 movie #201. 1948. An out-of-work dancer gets convicted of murder solely on the basis of a shoe print. His wife works with a friendly detective to find the real killer. Good twist at the end and fortunately they had the governor on speed-dial to prevent an execution.

Mr. Wong, Detective von William Nigh
Boring story of Mr. Wong, an almost unrecognizable Boris Karloff, aiding stupid police Captain Grant Withers in his investigation of the death of a chemical manufacturer. Did I say it was boring? Doesn't hold a candle to the Charlie Chan films I have seen. Karloff's character isn't the least bit interesting, and while you always suspect he knows more than anyone else, he doesn't display any entertaining mannerisms at all. Boring, boring, boring!!
