Called me one-eyed but when the greatest sporting club in the world publishes a pictorial book covering their success over their 140+ year history, I’m in. Full of photos historical and recent, “Since 1870” contains images dating back not quite as far as 1870 (which is a shame because I would have loved to see a photo of Port’s inaugural captain John Wald, who died aged 19) but we get plenty of photos from the twentieth century as Port built itself up to become the powerhouse of the SANFL and then its entry into the AFL. The photos bring back many great memories of past premierships and champions and the older photos introduce me to more Port champions of old.

Note: Non-Port Adelaide supporters may not get as much joy out of “Since 1870” as I did.… (mehr)
