This book was very sweet and the illustrations were unique looking, as if draw using both pencil and crayon. This story of the lead character, a young boy named Ricky, who is in a race with his toy horse and finishes last helps teach students that winning is not the most important thing. Ricky displays this great attitude at the end of the book by just embracing the joy of crossing the finish line. Anyone can still feel like, and be a winner regardless of being last.
