Reginald Ottley (1909–1985)

I remember reading this book when I was younger and it was good enough to remember.
The story is easy to read but engaging. It, to me, is like a childrens version of 'The Horse Whisperer.' It is really worth checking out if you can get your hands on it and if you are into horse stories.

This is one of the few books that are capable of making me cry. Reginald Ottley has managed to capture the very essence of Australia and its people in his vivid and realistic descriptions. And the ending is so sad.

A must read for every person who calls themselves Australian
