Entertaining as this topographical history undoubtedly is, it is is undermined by numerous errors of fact and typography. On the second page there is the erroneous claim that the Alde once entered the sea near Aldeburgh and this is but the first such mistake. Apparently, George Orwell had no linksto Suffolk, and the Colneis Peninsula has no name. And so it goes on.
