This book is a compilation of learning about the archaeology of the northern plains. Much of the book is just that - an up to date compilation of previous archaeological findings and research. There has not been a book like this since Prehistoric Hunter-Gatherers of the High Plains and Rockies by Kornfeld, Frison, and Larson.

What I like about Light from Ancient Campfires is it brings in Canadian archaeology which more or less ties to the high plains of the US, but not always.

I will never read this book cover to cover, but I will use it faithfully in my research for my archaeological based books that I write. Two thumbs up.… (mehr)
