Rezensionen

I was grateful to be able to borrow these four books of the Essene Gospel of Peace from the library. I feel it to be the best volume I’ve read all year and an important work.

I most appreciated the first book in which Jesus preaches to the people and gives them/us much valuable advice,

Jesus tells us we should not pore over “dead scriptures”. This does not benefit us if by our deeds we deny him who gave us the scriptures.

He tells us that “Satan and his plagues”” may only be cast out by fasting and prayer.

We are informed about the Earthly Mother’s angels, the Angel of Air, the Angel of Water and the Angels of Sunlight.

He says “Your Mother is in you, and you in her, --- if you receive your Mother’s angels and --- do her laws, --- (you) shall never see disease”.

“Seek not the Law in your scriptures, for the Law is life, whereas the scripture is dead.” (Somebody should give this book to the Jehovah’s Witnesses.)

He tells us to go out into nature and breathe long and deeply, take off our clothing and go into water, and take off our clothing and sit in the sun, Thereby the Angels of Air, of Water and of Sunlight will remove all "uncleannesses" from our body.

Our Heavenly Father is Love, our Earthly Mother is Love and the Son of Man is Love.

We should not kill unless to protect ourselves if being attacked by a wild animal.

But we should not kill animals without cause, whether for their flesh or tusks. Whoever does this is turned into a wild beast himself.

So we should not eat meat, but “the milk of every thing that moveth and liveth upon earth shall be meat for you”.

If we eat living food, it will “quicken us”, but the dead food will kill us too. “For life comes from life, and from death comes always death”.

“For everything which kills your foods kills your bodies also, And everything which kills your bodies, kills your souls also.”

Neither should we cook or freeze our foods.

So Jesus is saying we should eat only raw food.

We may eat all fruits of trees and grasses of the fields, and all milk of beasts.

Someone asks Jesus how they can cook their daily bread without fire, and he comes with a long explanation, which I did not fully understand and personally could not do.

We may also eat honey.

We should not mix all things together, “lest your bowels become as steaming bogs”. For “this is abominable in the eyes of the Lord”.

We should be content with two or three sorts of food. If we mix all sorts of foods in our body, endless war will rage in us.

He who eats more than twice a day is doing the work of Satan. Eat only at midday and when the sun has set, and you will never see disease.

And if we eat only once a day, we will live long.

We should breathe long and deeply at all our meals, chew our food well, and eat slowly, “as if it were a prayer you make to the Lord”.

We should not eat “when our spirit is vexed”, never eat in sorrow or in anger or without desire, because then the food will become poison to us.

Thus, Jesus has given us totally comprehensive advice about food and eating. We have heard much of this previously, but it is strange and delightful to hear Jesus give us this information. And, if truth be told, we already know that eating meat causes cancer. They probably did not know of cancer in Jesus’s time.

We should not sleep in the daytime, nor be up at night, “lest the Angels of God depart from you”. Ha, ha! Jesus said this for me!

I would have to think deeply about Jesus’ advice. Though I never eat meat, and Jesus doesn’t mention fish, still, we need to kill the fish in order to eat them. And I’m no fan of sushi.

I had the idea that Jesus was a fisherman, but consulting the net, I find that he was not, though four of his disciples were.

I found Book One amazing and vastly informative.

The first translation of Book Two was vastly criticized by Aldous Huxley, so this delayed the work for years.

Finally, Szekely translated it again, paying heed to Huxley’s criticism, thus with no footnotes.

It contains, among other things, the ten commandments and “the communions”

The communions are with the Angels of the Earthly Mother, the Angel of Sun, the Angel of Water, the Angel of Air, the Angel of Earth, the Angel of Life, the Angel of Joy, and the Earthly Mother.

The communions with the Angels of the Heavenly Father are with the Angel of Power, the Angel of Love, the Angel of Wisdom, the Angel of Eternal life, the Angel of Work, the Angel of Peace, and the Heavenly Father.

We are also informed about the Sevenfold peace.

“Let thy love be as the Sun
Which shines on all the creatures of the earth,
and does not favor one blade of grass
For another.”

“There shall be no peace among peoples
Till there be one garden of the Brotherhood
Over the earth.
For how can there be peace
When each man pursueth his own gain
And doth sell his soul unto slavery?”

We are also given the Essene Book of Revelations.

In Book Three we find texts from the lost Essene Scrolls, and in Book Four the Essene communions, the Sevenfold peace, again, and the Holy Streams.

I found this to be an extremely important volume, and I advise you to purchase it, as I may do myself.
