2021 movie #191. 1985. Reckless Secret Service agent pursues a counterfeiter (William Defoe) who killed his partner. Famous chase scene against traffic on an LA freeway. And to turn the '80s vibe knob up to 11, the soundtrack is by Wang Chung. Dir. Friedkin's comeback.

Very interesting if you or work near to Lincoln Heights or LA County USC Medical Center. The book was published in 1989 but still feels realistic even if CRASH doesn't exist anymore. The Police Chief is patterned after Willie Williams and does not come off well nor do other higher ranking officers. East LA hasn't changed much since 1989 except that now, working people locked out of Silverlake, Echo Park or Downtown lofts, have no choice for affording housing except in East LA.… (mehr)
