Auden is now sheriff. Keaton, the new high school English teacher, has moved in with his two sons while his ex-wife lives in Seattle. Auden meets Keaton when he is called about Keaton's oldest son, Byron, getting into trouble at school. Auden handles the problem and puts the boy on community service. While driving Byron to his service days, Auden talks with him and eventually Byron opens up as to what is wrong. Auden says nothing of this to Keaton as the two men are attracted to each other and being to build a relationship. What will happen when Keaton finds out what Byron is confiding to Auden? Will he understand why Auden did what he did?

I liked these two characters. They are the opposite of each other, but they work together. I liked that Auden does not judge Byron for his behavior but leaves the lines of communication open so trust can begin to form. I do like that Auden was right about the ex-wife. She was nasty. I loved Auden's daughters and how comfortable they made Milton, Keaton's younger son, feel. They also could keep secrets but could tell Auden the truth about Byron's situation. I liked his girls a lot.

The story was good and hooked me from the beginning. I am looking forward to the next book.

This is close to 4 stars - it is written well and the story flows smoothly.

I progressed to this novel after reading my first Nora Phoenix with New Daddy at Forty-Seven.

To call Coming Out on Top an "age-gap" romance is too simple and misleading, putting the emphasis on an element that hardly matters. The difference between the MCs is in experience - they are each experienced in life in diametrically opposed ways. And the path taken in the novel is how they bring that experience to each other.

An impulsive young man of 24, Quentin, takes a shine to a gentle giant, Mac, 38, who rescues him in a snow storm in a small town in New York.

Mac is an outcast for various murky reasons, and because he has a severe stutter, which the townsfolk interpret as his being "slow".

The audiobook blurb says "Quentin is searching for ... something. Respect. Answers. His identity." But these things take a backseat to the near-instant sexy romance between the MCs.

Narrator Kenneth Obi hasn't crossed my path before, but he has a great touch with this novel, and not sure I would have got into it if his reading hadn't made the most of it.½

I took a reader's advice and started with #2 in the series. I was aware that some valuable background was skipped but I was also glad that I'd missed the angst, which I can see had led up to this point.

By the time of #2 in what the publisher calls a duology - a word I have learned only recently, Benoni and Kinsey are there for each other and beginning their relationship adventure, which takes turns surprising to them both.

The younger man, Benoni, eases into a daddy role when it becomes clear that this suits Kinsey. It's strange and beautiful to them both.

I can't get over how the romance genre is so open minded and tolerant and has its values in the right place ... in my books!

It was good to hear narrator John Solo again.½

Tiago, along with his twin Tomas, come home for their school's reunion. Both left their hometown at 18 to become models and have done with their careers. Tiago has not been happy with modeling recently and is looking for something else. Cas is the town's handyman. He is a newcomer to the town. When the two men meet, they are attracted but Cas does not think anything will come of it. They do meet for a hot night and continue to see each other. Cas mentions the doctor's house is for sale and Tiago wants to see it remembering it from his teen years. When Tiago sees it, he decides to buy it. He hires Cas to do the remodeling. Cas has a rule of nothing personal with his clients, so he and Tiago go back to the friend zone. Will that change? Will Tiago be able to settle down in the small town again after seeing the world? Will Cas be an important person in Tiago's life or is he just a fling?

I enjoyed this book. I loved Tiago and Cas. Cas is a caregiver. I loved how he goes to help his sister when she needs help. He senses something with Tiago and slowly learns the best way to communicate with him. Tiago wants to learn how to be a homeowner. Tomas is not happy that Tiago is making decisions without his input. Cas advises but lets Tiago make the decisions for the house. Eventually paparazzi arrive in town, and I loved how the town circles 'round the wagons for Cas and Tiago. I also loved Tiago's story for the townspeople to tell the paparazzi. I could feel how hard it was for the two men to talk about their feelings, but I was glad when it came to a head and Cas had to let Tiago know he was not comfortable with what was happening. Truths then come out. I loved it!

I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Don't know why but just wasn't into this one. I think the back and forth of MM to MMM and time jumping confused me enough. TRied to read 3/2024

I've read Alpha/Omaga, M/M Romance stories before and have always been on the fence about them. Frankly... I just don't "get" them. It seems that the people are humans (???) and that they must exist in some type of an alternate universe or something (???). I love Nora Phoenix...I've read and own almost everything she has ever written so when I saw that she was the author...I thought I would try this M/M Romance sub-genera (??) again. I also listened to the audio...since John Solo is also a favorite and I thought that might add some insight. I'm not saying that I didn't like it, but I can't really say I liked it either, (see...on the fence again), and that was not in any way the fault of the author or the narrator. I did love the Palani character.... the cop. So... for the one amazing, warm, character, the wonderfully talented author that I love, and the beautifully done audio rendition by one of my favorite narrators, these three books will receive a 3-star rating...but I believe I will stick to more traditional M/M romances in the future. Please don't anyone try to explain this to me...my gay son and son-in-law have tried and have told me that they have given it up as Mom being a hopelessly lost cause.

I had to check a few times to be sure this was Nora Phoenix...MY NORA PHOENIX...the same Nora Phoenix that wrote the 45 other books that I own with her name on them. It was...I compared the pictures on the book to the one on all my others... so I continued...that is until the alien spider robot "thingys" showed up. I love animals of all kinds, but I am a firm believer that even God can make mistakes, so he must surely have been having a really awful, bad, off the wall kind of day when he said, "I'm going to have some fun today...I'll create something with at least a million eyes, some with hairy gigantic bodies, and give them eight legs so they can run faster that most of those human "things"! Other than that part...which I am yet recovering from...this was a pretty good story. An alien race is trying to take over the Earth but are not sure they want Washington D.C.... and three very special young men are trying to just survive the whole fiasco. I give the German Shepherd bonus points...you'll understand why when/if you read it... but I'm not telling. Just saying "good doggie"! Back to the boys. Each was special in his own way. They were all broken, battered and bruised, but trying to survive. Their time at the "camp" was like no camp I ever went to and for that I am extremely grateful. Mack was the new guy so he missed most of the torture, but Tan and Austin have scars they will carry for life.... both inside and out. Home life for them wasn't much better. It’s an interesting journey to take with the boys, especially if you really like science fiction...are not offended by guys that love one another...own a giant spider "splatterer"... (that's a technical term) ... and/or a BIG, BIG, BIG can of extra strength Raid...and lots and lots of doggie biscuits for the cute German shepherd. I can't remember when I had so much fun with a story.½

Being part of a twin has been your identity and now that your twin has found his forever, you are questioning your existence and purpose. Are you able to find what your twin and your friends have found - love?

I love how the relationship has evolved between Fir and Tomas. The vulnerability that the people thinks that Fir has because of the death of his husband but have forgotten how strong he actually is due to the that. I love how Fir is able to convey his wants and desire regardless of his crush on Tomas. Tomas is able to show his vulnerability to Fir as the relationship develops and how they both are willing to work for a happy everafter for something that started as a hook up. Hot and steamy scenes and lots of feels. Went back and reread the other Forestville books.

Branson and Ryde's relationship was frustrating. Ryder's previous boyfriend, Paul, was less than desirable and treated him badly, but Branson was nothing like him. I thought that Ryder was smart enough to know this. When Branson and Ryder finally get it together, they do have smoking hot chemistry that made for some epic scenes later. Ryder does get more likeable eventually and even starts becoming a decent human being. Ryder was really there for Branson when he needed him the most when Branson's father had cancer surgery and they didn't if he was going to make it. He also took Paul on and read him the riot act which was VERY OKAY. A lot of the questions about the assassination of the president and two first ladies was figured out by Ryder and wrapped up from the first 5 books. We also got to visit with some of the couples from the other books to see how they were doing. I believe the last book is Del's story. It's been a good series though not my favorite, but still worth the time.

I love Nora Phoenix. I have nearly all of her books and have reread them many times over...but even if you read in or out of order for this series...it doesn't seem to matter. That said...I have had enough.... and I do know when to stop. Maybe current politics have had too big of an impact on my perceptions of everything political, and this series is not in any way "worldly" political...I just didn't like nor was I able to form any type of meaningful relationship with any of the characters. Not the President, not the secret service...not the two hot guys...none of them. The whole story was written in the third person point of view which in this case made it harder to understand...especially with this book given all the poly relationships. I know I'm in the minority and I'm not saying that the story or the series is not worthy of being explored. Since this is one of my favorite authors, I sincerely hope that others will try the series and really like it. Sorry, Nora.

POSSIBLE TRIGGER WARNING: Mention of Sexual Abuse.
All Aaron wants is for someone to accept him, guide him, because he doesn’t have a clue. When sexy jiujitsu teacher Blake takes him in and starts mentoring him, Aaron has hope for the first time, even though he can’t understand what Blake sees in him. Blake doesn’t do relationships. At all. He’s more than willing to help Aaron find solid ground under his feet, but that’s it. Until insecure, vulnerable, and surprisingly sexy Aaron gets under his skin, triggering all kinds of protective instincts that make Blake long for more. He wants to take care of Aaron, give him what he needs, but how can he convince Aaron of that? When Josh’s friend-with-benefits Indy’s past finally catches up with him, it endangers them all, and leads to heartbreaking decisions for everyone involved. This is a M/M romance that ends with a happy ever after for Aaron and Blake, but also has a continuing storyline. As it is the third book in the "No Shame" Series, it is not a standalone. You really need to read the first book (No Filter) and the second book (No Limits) first. It contains hot sex, a little kink, some, but mild puppy play, and a beautiful friendship-with-benefits that transcends words.

This, the second book in the No Regrets series, crosses over with the first book, [No Surrender]. With the characters and past situations and events making appearances throughout the story...the books are best if read in order to establish the context of the start of this story. However, you can probably catch on fairly quickly weather you read the first one or not. Alex is the youngest member of Wander’s security team and an inexperienced sub. He is also the best on the mat when it comes to hand-to-hand fighting and a far-better that reasonable marksman. Ryan is an experienced Dom, who doesn’t think he is capable of being a Dom anymore. He is a former cop and now a PI. He has joined the security team permanently and for some reason feels compelled to annoy Alex. I will admit I became aggravated with him very quickly...but really loved him when he "became more human". Ryan is training Alex on investigation skills and together they are working on a case trying to solve the murder of a racehorse and the framing of his owner. It’s one thing to want to train Alex as a private investigator but Ryan is reluctant to train Alex as a sub... but for reasons he can't quiet figure out he can't he let anybody else train his "baby boy"...and where, he wants to know, did that thought come from anyway? We learn more about some of the guys from book #1, Wander, Burke, Jesse, David and the rest of the security team. We also get a few small cameos from Josh and Connor from the "No Shame" series where we were first introduced to Wander and his team. What I really liked about this book is simply, the story. It is...but yet it isn't, just a BDSM book, or an age gap book, or even just a simple love story. It is all of these things rolled into a really good mystery for Alex and Ryan to solve. The whole thing comes together beautifully. It's well written...a decent length that allows none of the elements listed above to be short changed. There's real character development, real relationship development and a solid plot line. There is lots of heated sex in the story...and if you are not comfortable with this or don't believe you ever could or would be...then skip it and move on...and thank you for reading this review...but if this is your thing... you won't be disappointed in the least.

I loved Indy and his guys in the "No Shame" series, so I was happy to see that I wouldn't be leaving them but continuing to see most of them in this new series. I didn't especially like Burke to start with...but I deeply felt for him. He wasn't a very nice man, and certainly was not very patient or understanding. But as his character went on, we learned that he had some really BIG confusions about some huge issues. Wander Burke, (loved him from the start), was so patient with him when he could have just thrown him under the bus and happily sat in the driver's seat. We first met Wander where we left off in the "No Shame" series. He had been employed by Indy and the men of the "No Shame" series to find the crime family that wanted them dead. Despite that it takes up from that point, you will have no problem reading this and seeing it as an entirely separate book, as the focus is completely on Burke, Wander and his team. We meet Burke when he is at his lowest and the beginning of the story focuses so much on that...Burke and his personal struggles. We learn about the reasons behind his actions, and I particularly liked that the author took the time to introduce us to who Burke was and where he was coming from. Burke presumes he is straight, and he desperately wants control, so he's training to be a Dom. The owner of the club asks Wander to mentor, him, and lets just say that his eyes are opened to a whole different level of BDSM. Burke became a lot more likeable at that point. I don't believe the story will be for everyone, even if you don't mind kink and BDSM in your stories. You can expect a lot of different kinks and multiple sexual practices. Nora Phoenix is one of my favorites. I own at least 30 of her books and have read them numerous times and I see no reason why this series won't be joining their "brothers in print".

I'm really, really glad I read the two books out of order. If I hadn't, I'm not sure I could have brought myself to have ever read the second book. I hated the stress and angst in this one...and would have been on edge the entire time wondering if all this turmoil would ever be resolved before the book ended. I loved Kinsey and Benoni, especially Benoni. Kinsey is 22 years older than Benoni and Benoni is Kinsey's son's best friend. Fate and good common sense say they should never be a good fit, and yet...they are. Nora Phoenix never lets her readers down. We have Kinsey who is an addict from drugs taken from an injury. He's a former ER doctor, only recently out as gay and divorced. He struggles a lot with his extremist religious up bringing, which was way over the top infuriating, judgmental and unforgiving on his parents and his grandfather's part. The poor man was beyond helpless trying to straighten out a life that never needed straightening out to begin with. He was a sad, awkward, self-deprecating, virgin that just needed someone to tell him that his God loved him no matter what the hypocrites pushed down his young throat. From the start I was 100% committed to Kinsey and to their future happiness. Kinsey and Benoni's romance and friendship will touch your heart!½

It's not often that I can honestly say this...but the truth is I accidently read this, the 2nd book, first. If you read this series, don't make the same mistake. We follow Benoni as he discovers that he wants to be a "Daddy" for his “boy”, Kinsey, and does a beautiful job of developing that role. The title’s reference to "New Daddy", is really more about Kinsey’s discovery that he wants and needs Benoni to assume this role for him. Kinsey struggle to understand his feelings, to grapple with his needs and he even wonders if he is entitled to fulfill them...to put himself first and stand up for what is necessary for his own happiness. What Kinsey discovers is that he needs Benoni to take his troubles and worries in the Daddy/boy lifestyle and he finally embraces it at the age of forty-seven. Nora Phoenix develops Kinsey and Benoni’s beautiful hurt/comfort, age gap, best friend’s father romance through some extraordinary character development, along with poignant scenes, detailed and a highly informative commentary on opioid addiction, religious homophobia, and a slow burn authentic relationship. For a story built on the premise of recovery and healing from devastation, the story is not especially high angst. The author continues to weave the treads together on Kinsey and Benoni’s complex, emotional love story and really highlights the exceptional relationship they have created in the way that best meets both their needs with no apologies to anyone. I liked the two main characters but hated how many years Kinsey went being shunned by his family, the people that should have loved him unconditionally. There was almost too much heartache and turmoil before good things began to happen for Kinsey. I was happy to see that Benoni was always there for him no matter what. Nora Phoenix remarks in the publisher’s note that this is her most personal story to date and she obviously has an important message to convey, but the details that are fascinating at the beginning become really almost overwhelming by the end, thus the 3.5-star rating.½

Another hot read as we begin a brand new series. No Regrets is a spin off series but can be read as a standalone ( although you would then want to go back and read Indy and all his family)

Hot, sexy, kinky read with found family, profound realisations on who Burke is when he is with Wander.

It has a litte bit of intrgue and drama but lots and lots of loving times between the MC's and well the rest of the household.

Excited to read the next books in this series.

This is book 4 in this wonderful series and should NOT be read as a stand alone, you need to read them all.

This is a MMM read and whoa its hot. It has kinks, love, friends, sharing, drama - well everything really for a great read.

We learn more about the intrigue and mystery that has been threaded throughout all the reads, but we mostly learn about 3 men falling in love, 1 who is 100%, 1 not sure and 1 who never wanted a relationship. All three realise they are stronger and better together.

Nora is a one-click read for me.

ok so I was looking forward to the final book but TBH I didnt love this one as much as the others :(

I cant tell you exactly why cos I just didn't. I think in part because it references the past quite a lot and the start to me seemed slow.

and well thats why I only gave this 3 stars.

I am in awe of the way authors brains work in connecting all the pieces and making them magical!

This series is so intertwined and detailed and the characters so personalised that it's a joy to read!

Duer, Fallen, Yitro and their 'extended' family faces trials but everything is dealt with as family and with love and honor!
