Rezensionen

I really enjoyed this book. It was told entirely from the POV of the hero. I felt the author did a real good job making the male voice totally believable. It was very cleanly written with only the necessary words not a lot of angsty thinking even though the man was barely able to walk and was recovering from war injuries. Definitly will be checking out more by this author. Solid plot, no huh? moments.

Sloan Baron has come to Navajo Country to see her estranged brother—in critical condition after a car accident. She already has been caring for two of his children, and now she learns that he has a third child, a young half-Navajo boy. As she navigates the mess her brother has left behind, she finds an unlikely ally in Navajo Tribal Policeman Lucas Singer. Together, they try to unravel the laws regarding children on Indian Reservations. They also fall hard for each other. This is such a wonderful book! Ms. Reavis has created well-rounded characters that you’ll love and root for and cry over, along with a peek into the traditions and beliefs of the Navajo people. This is a story that will stay with you long after it’s ended. Moving and deeply romantic, I highly recommend.… (mehr)

I just discovered I hadn't read this one book - I've read the rest of the series. This was actually a bit disappointing - I liked the romance and both main characters (mostly) but it didn't draw me in quite as much, and another character who is the lead in The Long Way Home (the next book), Rita, is portrayed without the redeeming features she had in the later book, which made her a pretty unlikeable character.

Started and had to quit reading. Wasn't into it, really.
