A beautiful book about San Juan, the city and the culture. This book is in Spanish and English and would make a great read aloud for elementary school.

Summary: a little biography run through of Pura Belpre's life and why she did what she did. She was a librarian in New York and she noticed the lack of Spanish books in the shelves

So educational. And useful. Not at E's level yet though.

Solid. A little too old for Esther but a good bilingual tool.

It doesn't stand on its own(without outside research) as much as the others in the series do. But it was colorful enough to be enjoyed by E.

So fun. Though I think E needs to be a little older to make the connection between the skeleton faces and normal faces.

I definitely am interested in more historical background but it wasn't necessary for the book. Loved the way it integrated culture with colors.

A lot to see here. Maybe too much for little kids. But I enjoyed it.

Adorable. A bit too old for babies but the illustrations are colorful and informative. Loved it. I want to read them all, now.

It was darling. It had its own style and was fun and informative, if you wanted it to be.

This board book has a very cute design and drawings. Despite its cover, it is not a book about astronaut Ellen Ochoa; it is a typical name-each-planet-in-order-with-a-rhyme baby book. The poetry is not good; if it were not bilingual, I would not recommend this book. However, the fact that it names the planets and provides each couplet in both English and Spanish is unusual enough that I cautiously recommend it for families intending to raise bilingual kids.

This book introduces numbers and words in Spanish while also telling about the famous painter, Frida. Frida was one of Mexico's most famous painters and she was known for her beautiful, colorful artwork. This book is full of colorful patterns and pictures all inspired by Frida. For each picture, there is a set of words that describes the picture. These words are presented in both English and Spanish. This allows for readers to pick up on Spanish numbers, colors, and more. This book is perfect for diverse classrooms and English as second language learners because it has the same words written in English and in Spanish. There are many pictures included and the vocabulary is fairly basic so I would say that this book can be used in elementary classrooms as well as middle school classrooms. This book is also great for art class or history class.

This book is about emotions and using faces that surround Dia De La Muertos celebration. The words are in English and Spanish which is wonderful. I loved it. And I would definitely use this book in my future classroom and in lesson planning to work on emotions which is a hard thing for 2 year old children.
