Gripping, engrossing, and contains very cold sinister characters. The plot twist won't disappoint you. I suspected the antagonist early on, but the ending was mind-blowing, especially the reasoning for it. I had to pause and look away before proceeding. Readers should be cautioned though that the ending poses a moral dilemma that produces a dramatic, gut-wrenching melancholia that could either cause the reader to love the story or have mixed feelings about it, hence, stirred some uncomfortable emotions in me.

Some aspects of it confused me though, for instance, why was the wife never declared as a suspect? I mean c'mon anyone who watches or reads murder mysteries knows the spouse is always the first suspect. Second, the first-person perspective did not make sense because it was happening during the present time not beforehand, so why was she surprised if she already knew. It seems like the author was trying to do a Gone Girl but failed to do so.… (mehr)
