My feelings on this are a bit mixed. On the one hand, I like the writer's style, but on the other it's kind of dull. There's no real tension at all. Just some spooky stuff happens, a house eventually gets sold, a marriage dissolves, and a new realtor learns that his company is evil-ish (There big plan is to somehow let the ghosts of rich bastards haunt any houses they sell, which as evil plans go is pretty weak sauce).

Rovens’ story of just how bad selling your house can go is a pretty mild-mannered horror. One would expect evil spirits breaking into our world would at least bring a chill up the spine, but not here. The characters were pretty cookie-cutter, without any growth, and in a couple of occasions just out and out stereotypes. So honestly, I’ll stick with Grady Hendrix.

Weird things are happening in the house, and Ed's wife, Alma, starts expressing very strong opinions about homosexuality.

The novel moves very quickly- I finished it in a couple hours- and the characters are well developed, for the most part. As a reader, I was left with lots of questions, which may have been intentional. The moral and ethical quandries of our main character are things many of us face, and the difficulties he faces in light of those are relevant to current situations.… (mehr)
