This is my favorite cookbook. The cruisine is high quality and very good for you. There are a lot of fresh ingredients and plenty of spices. Because your cooking fresh it takes longer to prepare the meals but they are worth it. While the food is healthy it never lacks flavor or appeal. My family's favorites are the Chicken Cordon Bleu and all the different omelet variations. This is my default way of eating. I agree with her on most of the big things; like eating small frequent balanced meals of whole foods. We do part company on salt - she says just say no. I say I've got low blood pressure and need the stuff. She doesn't like natural thyroid replacement. I say if the ratio of T3/T4 isn't 'natural' just add a little T4!

Without food, we would die in a matter of weeks. In a world of hunger, it is sad that I have to remind people of this simple fact that food should be enjoyed for the life-giving nourishment, both for the body and the soul, that it provides.

In fact, I go even farther than many diet experts and the well-intentioned family members who tell you to only eat when you are hungry. I completely disagree with this statement. You need to eat well to build well; sometimes hunger has nothing to do with the amount of food you need, especially when your body and mind have been programmed to believe low-level starvation is the way to live.
