This anthology has only nine stories, but each work is solid and profound. It's not uncommon to find science fiction stories about the near-future and technological advancement, but this collection is different because the approach is overwhelmingly positive and diverse. Mind you, I enjoy my share of post-apocalyptic stories, too, but the overall vibe here was refreshing and just what I needed. Two of my favorites were Deborah Walker's "Love in a Lonely City 2050," about match-making AI in the future, and Laurence Raphael Brothers's "Houseproud," about sentient, adoring houses and the good they do for their humans.… (mehr)
