This recital is a confluence of ideas and desires I have been musing about for sever!)) years. As
a woodwind doubler, the idea of featuring flute, clarinet and saxophone was appealing. A
delightful afternoon reading the Brahms and Mozart clarinet quintets with the requisite string
players spurred the desire to perform more quintet music. The idea of performing new works by
local composers and arrangers took the quintet idea in a new direction beyond extant works for
the instrumentation. The desire to combine the emphasis on strings for my masters degree
track with the instruments that I personally play was the final component.… (mehr)
