Wow, just Wow! This is the sequel to Russian Tattoos: Obsession. Newsflash, this one is just as good. This book was beyond words. Everything you will think you know in the beginning, be prepared because it may or may not be what you think. I loved seeing Vladimir with Carter, where you saw his human, compassionate side, not just the ruthlessness you would expect from the leader of the Bratva. I was glad things with Dmitri were handled the way they were. Damn, there are so many things I want to say about how amazing this story is, but I don’t want to give it away. All I will definitely say is read Obsession so you know what is going on, but definitely add it to your To Be Read.… (mehr)

Many of us are familiar with the true story about the match race between Seabiscuit and War Admiral, perhaps from watching the movie about Seabiscuit, or from reading the excellent book about him written by Laura Hillenbrand. However, while this book is telling the story of the race between champions, it also helps younger readers, or adults unfamiliar with the topic, understand more about the sport of kings, and it does so without insulting their intelligence.

The illustrations are bright, colorful, with some more abstract, and some more realistic. I enjoyed examining the illustrator's different styles as well as reading the story again. There is also a glossary at the end of the book.

I liked reading Seabiscuit vs. War Admiral, and look forward to reading it to my granddaughter in the future.… (mehr)
