James Sheldon (1920–2016)

Interesting book on the early days of television (starting in 1948) by director James Sheldon. Sheldon worked on early shows such as Mister Peepers, The Twilight Zone, Death Valley Days, etc. He seemed to be a director that most of the actors liked but as the industry changed and producers got involved (who often thought they knew better) there were clashes. The book is well written and provides a list of the shows he directed (but not specific episodes). He was instrumental in getting James Dean cast in early television/Broadway shows as well as others such as Tony Randall and Troy Donahue. Was able to read the entire book in about 3 hours.… (mehr)
