As always in this series, this book works on two levels. The rhyming verses for each letter work nicely for younger readers, and those you read aloud to. The prose paragraphs found on each page go into more detail about each entry, and work well for older readers with longer attention spans.

The pictures are bright and accurate. I also love the choices for the alphabet from my favorite state. My favorites: D for Dancing Cranes, I for Ice Age (mammoths), K for Kool-Aid, V for canteen Volunteers (WWII), and Z for the Henry Doorly Zoo.… (mehr)
